That buys an assessment, not a guaranteed prescription or a supply of medication. The distinction matters: a low consultation price can still lead to a high total bill once the pharmacy charges for the medicine. We would compare QuickMD after checking the likely pharmacy cost, rather than choosing it on the $99 headline alone.

Check coverage before paying for the visit

The weight-loss page lists Mounjaro, Wegovy, Ozempic, Zepbound and Rybelsus. It says the doctor can send a prescription to your local pharmacy if treatment is appropriate. Medication costs depend on the pharmacy and prescription benefits; the consultation is not an all-inclusive drug price. Ask your insurer about the exact prescribed product, coverage criteria and any prior authorization before booking. A prescription and an insurance approval are separate steps. If you will pay cash, request the pharmacy price for the prescribed strength and quantity instead of assuming every listed brand has the same cost.

Follow-up frequency changes the value

QuickMD says established patients may qualify for 90-day prescriptions. That is a possibility, not a promise for a new patient or a reason to skip clinical follow-up. Ask how soon you need another appointment, what it costs and whom to contact between visits. For budgeting only, three consultations at the published $99 rate total $297 before medication; one consultation totals $99. No membership does not mean penalty-free cancellation

The refund policy sets a one hour cancellation cutoff. A missed visit or later cancellation results in a $35 deduction from the visit credit. Canceled visits generally create an account credit first; eligible credit refunds must be requested within 30 days of the original charge. A completed consultation is not refundable merely because the doctor declines your preferred prescription. For a parent whose day can change unexpectedly, this is a real trade-off: there is no membership to keep paying, but a booked appointment still has a financial deadline. Save the appointment time and cancellation instructions when booking.

Confirm the service in your state

The current weight-loss offer excludes Louisiana. QuickMD has a service-by-state directory, so check weight-loss availability for your location rather than assuming its other services have identical coverage. We have not confirmed a clinician assignment or an appointment slot for an individual patient. The site advertises same-day visits, but that should not be read as a promise of a same-day prescription or pharmacy pickup.

How we would compare it

QuickMD makes more sense for someone who has already checked the medication budget and prefers paying for visits as needed. Someone seeking one predictable payment for medication and care should compare the full package in other provider reviews. Check the amount due today, likely refill expense, appointment frequency and cancellation cutoff on both sides. A bundled plan may cost more for clinician access, but a visit-only offer cannot be judged against its medication-inclusive total without adding the pharmacy bill.
