The membership is a second bill
Hims is easiest to understand as two purchases: clinical access and, if prescribed, medication. Care costs $39 for the first month and renews at $149 per month. The advertised drug prices start at $149 for the Wegovy pill, $199 for its pen, and $299 for Zepbound vial or KwikPen. Those are medication-only floors. At an unchanged $149 drug price, membership brings an ordinary month to $298; that illustration is not a guaranteed quote across doses.
Choose the product, then confirm the dose price
The public catalog includes brand pills and injections, with different indications and eligibility requirements. Hims says dosage can change pricing. A low starting price therefore cannot settle the cost of your maintenance prescription. Its March 2026 company announcement also allows compounded semaglutide in limited clinically necessary circumstances, despite shifting advertised treatment toward brands. Ask for the exact product, pharmacy and renewal amount rather than assuming every possible Hims prescription is a brand product.
Canceling medication can leave care running
The terms give membership and medication plans separate renewal rules. Cancel at least two days before the scheduled billing date; renewals may process early, but the deadline uses that originally scheduled date. Stopping medication alone does not stop the membership charge. Canceling membership also cancels its medication plan and access to benefits at period end. If Gifthealth handles your drug, medication cancellation and refunds must be managed there, separately from Hims membership.
Refund limits matter before the first charge
The first membership fee is nonrefundable. Shipped medication is not refundable, and partial-period refunds are discretionary. For an initial medication plan, the terms specify cancellation within 48 hours of submitting payment information; renewals require cancellation two days before the billing date. These are financial deadlines, not a promise that care or shipping waits for your decision. A prepaid multi-month supply also affects when cancellation takes effect. Save both renewal dates and the written plan terms.
App support has useful boundaries
Hims describes an initial evaluation, monthly clinical check-ins, dosage visits when needed and unlimited provider messaging. Messaging access around the clock does not establish an instant response. State rules may require audio or video, and the service is not available in all 50 states. The optional smart scale requires opting in and ships separately. The app also includes AI features explicitly described as nonmedical responses; use your licensed provider for medication decisions rather than treating every app reply as clinical care.
A men-focused service needs a maternal-fit check
The weight-loss page targets men and does not establish a postpartum or nursing pathway. Pregnancy plans, breastfeeding and current prescriptions need a direct eligibility discussion; the catalog alone cannot answer that. Hims received FDA warning letter #716567 in September 2025 concerning misleading compounded-product claims. The current brand emphasis does not establish that the letter was closed or independently verify your assigned clinician. Compare other provider reviews if one bundled bill or a more clearly defined maternal program would suit you better.
