Sesame vs Synergy Rx

Sesame and Synergy Rx both offer GLP-1 telehealth, but they make different trade-offs on how gentle the start is, honest pricing, real support and access. Here they are side by side on the Mama-Match Score — our first-timer rubric.

The verdict for a first step

Higher Mama-Match Score: Sesame

Sesame edges out Synergy Rx on the Mama-Match Score, 83 to 80 (B vs B−). Moms who'd rather have FDA-approved brand-name medication and a real clinical visit than the lowest compounded price, and who don't mind separate subscription and medication bills.

Synergy Rx is still a genuine option — a young but unusually well-credentialed program — LegitScript, named physicians and pharmacies, brand-name and compounded options, and a real live consult — held back mainly by pricing that stays hidden until after that consult. Weigh the six first-timer factors below against your own priorities.

Mama-Match

Sesame

Rank #10 · Grade B

What we like

  • A real video visit with a licensed clinician, plus labs and messaging in the subscription
  • FDA-approved brand-name options (Wegovy pill, Ozempic, Zepbound) with the manufacturer's own label
  • Transparent cash-pay marketplace pricing — no insurance needed, HSA/FSA commonly accepted

The caveats

  • No longer offers low-cost compounded GLP-1s — it exited that market in 2025
  • The subscription and the medication are billed separately, so the true monthly cost is higher than the headline
  • Brand-name medication runs $149–$499/mo, well above the flat compounded programs

Mama-Match

Synergy Rx

Rank #12 · Grade B−

What we like

  • Strong oversight: LegitScript seal, named physicians (with NPIs), and named partner pharmacies
  • A required live telehealth consult before prescribing — not just an asynchronous questionnaire
  • Both compounded (semaglutide, tirzepatide, ODT) and FDA-approved brand-name options

The caveats

  • No public pricing — the exact cost only appears after the consult
  • Founded in 2026, with little independent review history yet
  • No BBB or Trustpilot presence to cross-check against
